Overview:
The HP 3100 EI Switch Series enhances security by providing reliable fully, managed Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switches ideal for the access layer of medium and large enterprises. Features include enterprise class quality of service (QoS) and security features including rate limiting, QinQ, ACLs, a 24-port PoE model, and improved reliability with backup redundancy.
The HP 3100 EI Switch Series can be managed with the optional HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC) Software Platform for a single view of your entire network.

Reliable Fast Ethernet Access Layer Switches
- The HP 3100 EI Switch Series enhances security by providing reliable fully managed Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switches ideal for the access layer of medium and large enterprises.
- Series includes 8-, 16-, 24- and 48-port models with Gigabit Ethernet uplinks with a 24-port PoE model for support of IP phones, wireless APs and video cameras.
- Hardware-based wire speed access control lists (ACLs) help provide high levels of security and ease of administration without impacting network performance with a feature-rich TCAM-based ACL implementation.
- External redundant power supply provides improved reliability.
Enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Control
- The HP 3100 EI Switch Series provides traffic prioritization with supported congestion actions including strict priority (SP), weighted round robin (WRR), SP+WRR and HQ+WRR queuing.
- Broadcast control cuts down on unwanted network broadcast traffic. Advanced QoS classifies traffic using multiple match criteria based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 information and applies QoS policies such as setting priority level and rate limit to selected traffic on a per-port or per-VLAN basis.
- Multiple user authentication methods include MAC Authentication, IEEE 802.1X and Web for greater, policy-driven security.
- Enhanced security features include port isolation, STP BPDU port protection and root guard. Radius/HWTACAS eases switch management security administration by using a password authentication server.

- The HP 3100 EI Switch Series can be seamlessly managed with the optional HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC) Software Platform to provide end-to-end network transparency with consistent network experience through comprehensive configuration, compliance and policy management.
